Warp Rail

Overview

Warp rails are LT's system for fast travelling within a system. The warp rails consists of a series of nodes that are connected by rails. A ship can join the rail at a node and follow the rail in either direction. Leaving the rail can be done at any time.
The warp rails allocates a certain "pie slice" around it for each travelling ship so several ships can use the warp rail at the same time without colliding.

History

In the LT Prototype the system consisted of warp lanes; structures that consist of two gates through which the ships travel (one in each direction).
Due to the disadvantages of this system (no multiple ships travelling and easy colliding) the system was replaced with the current one.
